Breakdancing Boogie

We got William a new pair of shoes this week and they arrived in the mail yesterday.  Well, let's just say that he loves them.  In fact, after I got out of the shower this morning I managed to get a video of him testing them out.  Check out the interpretive dance skills....and how about those pushups?  Sorry that the lighting is bad, and yes, he will thank me for this video in about 12 years.

Mr. Big Boy

We're still alive and well over here.  School has had me swamped this summer, and between that and William, there's been very little left over for blogging.  Honestly, I haven't even gotten the camera out, so even if I did have time to blog, there wouldn't be any pics to post....and no one wants to read a post without William pics, right?

Well, today was blog-worthy in the Lovelady house, because our "big boy", as he prefers to be called, started his 3 year old preschool class.  Of course I made him stand out front for the obligatory photo op before we left.

This is what happens when you ask him to smile, in case you were wondering

And of course I have to post a side-by-side from his first day of school last year, just to compare.  My oh my, how he's grown!

Celebrating 3 years of William

We celebrated William's 3rd a few weeks ago, with an all-sports party.  This was the first year that he really knew it was his birthday, and had been looking forward to it for months.  I know all parents feel the same, but it's so hard to believe that he's 3 already...he really needs to slow this process down a bit!  Anyway, it was great weather, and a good time was had by all.  I'd also like to give a big shout-out to my multi-talented bestie, Jessica, who took the pics for me...thanks!

Love my boys!

A little extra sweetness with the cake

There was lots of digging

And baseball practice

And yardwork

Add in a little butterfly catching too

Katherine says a girl can never have too many beanbags

Silly boys

Things got a little crazy at the end with the water guns...thanks uncle Doug and aunt Marci!

Blogging Sebatical

Well, first of all, I know I know that I'm pretty poor at blogging. Honestly, this semester at school has had me so swamped, that my free time is very little. That, combined with the fact that I have less time with William during the week, and my constant lack of taking pictures makes for very little to blog about anyway.

We did, however, just take a trip to Disneyworld...so I'm taking a hint and blogging about it!

It was a wonderful trip, and we had lots of fun, but also exhausting going with an almost-3 year old....longest 10 hour drives ever.

We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge, which was amazing, and went to the parks each day by boat or bus. This was a character breakfast at the Polynesian resort. William was pretty unsure of the life-size characters, as you will be able to see in the pics!

He was pretty exhausted most of the time, but he adapted well, and it gave us a good excuse to come back in the afternoons and nap.

Days were filled with doing all things William (favorite ride: carousel, times rode: 3)

Favorite activity: "getting in the water", Times swimming: I lost count

Nights were filled with ballroom dancing and fireworks

We met many friends such as nemo, Mickey, Donald, goofy, well you get the picture.

Stopped for many run-around-like-your-pants-are-on-fire breaks from the stroller.

Went on a safari and saw many exotic animals...least favorite part for William, most favorite part of parents.

Even went on a dinosaur dig...now that's a great trip!

Chatting it up with the big guy

We've been talking for several weeks now with William about going to sit in Santa's lap, and telling him what we want for Christmas. I was a little skeptical of how it was going to go, but he surprised me! He was chatting it up, telling him he wanted a fishing pole and trucks. When it came time to sit in his lap, he wasn't too excited about the idea, but obliged to getting his picture taken beside him...baby steps, people!

It's definitely an improvement over last year!

Spooktacular Halloween!

Tiger Woods before candy-collection

Doing an equipment check to make sure the pumpkin is candy-ready

Performing equipment check on the clubs

Warming up with a few practice swings

Practicing his "give me candy" grin...trust me, it worked too well...he was bouncing off the walls by the end of the night!
